Von Miller with knee injury

The Buffalo Bills picked up a key defensive starter on Thursday, then lost another in their Thanksgiving game against the Detroit Lions.

Edge rusher Von Miller was sent off during the second quarter of Thursday’s game and was immediately ruled out for the remainder of the game with a knee injury.

The injury itself didn’t look good, and the fact that the Bills ruled him out so quickly isn’t promising.

There is still a bit of optimism. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the early prognosis is a sprained kneebut a more serious injury is not excluded.

The Bills have been decimated by injuries this season on defense, especially in their secondary. Miller’s injury happened the same day star cornerback Tre’davious White was activated after missing the first 10 games of the regular season.

Miller was one of the Bills’ big additions this offseason and was brought in to help bolster their defense. He did just that with eight sacks and a forced fumble coming into play Thursday.
