Vista Equity Partners agrees to buy EngageSmart for $4 billion


Vista Equity Partners closed $4 billion deal Monday to acquire enterprise software company EngageSmarta significant buyout at a time when many private equity firms are staying on the sidelines.

Vista is offering shareholders of the customer engagement and payments software specialist $23 per share. The Wall Street Journal earlier reported that a deal had been reached. EngageSmart stock jumped more than 10% in premarket trading to trade near the bid price.
