A nine-year-old boy was close to death after grabbing the doorknob of his classroom. The little boy suffered a electric shock intense that kept him attached to the metal object for at least two minutes.

Lorena Churampi, the schoolboy’s mother, attributed responsibility for this fact to the school authorities. According to what she said, the director of the Villa Limatambo schoolfrom Villa María del Triunfo, had been warned that this situation could occur, however, no preventive measures were taken.

The outraged woman reported that the child fell to the ground after receiving an electric shock and was helped by his teacher. Later, they took him to a medical post where, fortunately, professionals confirmed that the schoolboy was out of danger.

“My son enters the living room and grabs the door handle and gets stuck because electricity hit him (…) They inform me that my son was stuck for two minutes. He had to let go of his body to release the energy. “He fell to the floor and a teacher gave him first aid,” he explained. America news.

The mother added that after this unfortunate incident that occurred within the institution, the school director nor any other representative of the Villa Limatambo school have contacted her or given her support.

“It’s outrageous because he (the director) knew. An electrical engineer told him that this was going to happen and he did nothing,” he stated.

According to what was evidenced by the cameras of said medium, the classroom where the victim attends classes is a prefabricated metal classroom made by the National Educational Infrastructure Program (Pronied). Inside and outside, you can see various cables hanging, some of which even look burnt and peeling.

Other parents also joined the claim and said that the educational center always has accumulated garbage, bathrooms without doors, bars and rusty iron. They demand that the authorities take action on the matter and provide better space and security to their students.

It is worth mentioning that Miriam Ponce Vértiz, head of the Ministry of Education (Minedu), also ruled on this case. According to what he said, there will be no classes on Monday so that some dangerous situations can be regularized.

“The decision that was made is that classes be suspended today (Friday) and Monday as well. There will be a meeting in a couple of hours between the Apafa group, the school director, the regional director, UGEL director and the Pronied team,” he indicated.

In addition, he anticipated that the condition of the educational institution will be analyzed and, based on this, it will be determined whether the suspension of classes is extended or if students will go to virtual mode.

“We have already seen that there are 10 classrooms that are from 2014 that do not have a well, so they cannot be used,” he noted.

Electrocution occurs when a person experiences a stop in heart rate and breathing, or a loss of consciousness due to an electrical shock. This type of injury is common in cases of high and medium voltage electrical shocks.

When you witness an electrical incident, it is important that you follow these precautionary measures:

  • Do not touch the injured person if they are still in contact with the electrical current.
  • Call 116 or 115 if it was caused by high voltage cables or lightning.
  • Do not approach the cables and stay about 6 meters away.
  • Do not move the injured person unless there is immediate danger.
  • Look to see if there are certified first aid professionals nearby.
