Vigilante shootouts fly off amid concealed carry rise

The Philadelphia plaintiff reports that justifiable homicides are increasing in Philadelphia as concealed transports increase in the city.

The Applicant lists three recent incidents in which individuals legally carrying concealed firearms shot and killed their attackers.

The newspaper then noted, “These types of deadly confrontations in which the intended victims survive and the assailants die are rare in Philadelphia, but are becoming more common as increasing numbers of people legally arm themselves in the midst of a increasing number of carjackings, shootings and homicides. ”

The Applicant observes that “justified homicides jumped 67% from 2020 to 2021”. And 2022 is on track to surpass the number of justifiable homicides seen last year.

Philadelphia Police Assistant Commissioner Benjamin Naish said, “We have seen an increase in the number of people applying for and receiving transportation permits. I think they are concerned about their safety and wearing it legally, which is the big difference.

On June 18, 2022, Breitbart News highlighted a report from CBS Philly showing that the highest annual number of concealed carry permit applications the city received between 2017 and 2020 was 11,814.
