The Philadelphia Eagles took a lot of heat in 2020 when they drafted Jalen Hurts in the second round.

They already had Carson Wentz on their team, who many thought was the franchise’s next star.

But, after a few years of decline for Wentz, the Eagles dropped him in favor of Hurts.

Based on their results this season, there is no doubt that it was the right decision.

Hurts led the Eagles to the number one seed in the NFC, and now to the Super Bowl.

One thing Hurts has been praised for by his teammates is his leadership ability.

He showed it again before the NFC Championship Game.

Now that the Eagles are heading to the Super Bowl, it will be interesting to see how Hurts performs on the big stage.

He didn’t need to do much as a pitcher in the first two playoff games, throwing for 275 and two touchdowns in the two games.

But, dealing with the Kansas City Chiefs’ much-vaunted offense could cause the Eagles to open up their offense further.

Even so, the Eagles will still come into the game with a running mindset.

Injuries will remain a big part of the running game, using it in play options, RPOs, and engineered quarterback runs.

He will put a lot of pressure on the Kansas City defense to slow down the running game.

This game could ultimately come down to which quarterback plays best.

Patrick Mahomes and Hurts will most likely finish one and two in the NFL MVP vote.

So it only makes sense that these two will go head-to-head for the chance to win the Lombardi Trophy.
