Video shows how New York bodega worker Jose Alba may have been stabbed

Shocking new video obtained by The Post shows the harrowing moment Manhattan bodega worker Jose Alba was possibly stabbed while pushing back and fatally slashing an abusive ex-con who attacked him.
In the chilling footage, Alba, 61, fights back and cuts career criminal Austin Simon inside the Manhattan bodega on July 1 – as the ex-convict’s girlfriend appears to pull a knife from her purse. hand and try to stab the worker.
Simon was later pronounced dead, while Alba was charged with his murder.
The footage offers a new take on the bloody exchange. Simon’s unidentified girlfriend has not been charged in the case.
The new footage shows Simon, 35, from a different angle, going behind the counter and confronting Alba, who then scuffles with the young man and pulls a knife from a candy rack.
Alba is seen stabbing Simon repeatedly, and after a few moments the woman who has been identified as Simon’s girlfriend appears to pull a knife from her purse and attempt to stab the worker.

The bodega clerk’s attorney said during his arraignment last week that Simon’s girlfriend stabbed the worker three times in the shoulder and hand.
The new footage shows Simon lying at the bottom of the ledger in a pool of blood. Alba is seen in the background still holding the bloodied knife.
The girlfriend is seen crying and appears to attempt to revive Simon at one point.

The police arrive and take Alba, who apparently suffered stab wounds to the shoulder, into custody.
The video comes after previous surveillance clips showed Alba being thrown into a wall by Simon, and another of Alba pleading with the young man after he burst in.
“Dad, I don’t want trouble,” Alba says in one of the previous clips.

The hard-working immigrant has been charged with second-degree murder and posted $250,000 bond until prosecutors negotiate a $5,000 bond last week.
Alba is now at home under close supervision awaiting his next court appearance.
