LONDON (AP) — West Ham were helped by two VAR calls for their goals as they beat Bournemouth 2-0 in the English Premier League on Monday.

Kurt Zouma’s 45th-minute header came moments after a corner kick from the right hit fellow West Ham defender Thilo Kehrer in the arm as he leaped to meet the ball inside the box of repair.

The video review ruled that the handball was accidental.

Then, as the game entered second-half added time, a cross from substitute Vladimir Coufal hit the arm of Bournemouth defender Jordan Zemura as he tried to block the ball.

VAR suggested to the referee on the pitch to review the incident on the pitchside monitor and a penalty was awarded, sent by Saïd Benrahma.

West Ham climbed to 10th place, one point and four places above Bournemouth.

It was a second successive defeat for Bournemouth.
