US to admit 100,000 refugees fleeing Ukraine, White House says

The United States will accept up to 100,000 refugees fleeing fighting in Ukraine as the humanitarian crisis sparked by Russia’s attack on its neighbor deepens, administration officials said Thursday.

More than 10 million people in Ukraine have been uprooted by the fighting, according to United Nations estimates. More than 3.6 million of them have fled the country, according to the UN, most of them bound for Poland.
