US identifies four Marines killed in training flight in Norway

Capt. Matthew J. Tomkiewicz of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Capt. Ross A. Reynolds of Leominster, Mass., Gunnery Sgt. James W. Speedy of Cambridge, Ohio, and Cpl. Jacob M. Moore of Catlettsburg, Ky., was killed in the crash south of Bodo, Norway, according to a Marine news release.

The deceased Marines have been removed from the crash site and are being returned to the United States. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

“The pilots and crew are committed to accomplishing their mission and serving a cause greater than themselves,” said Major General Michael Cederholm, commanding general of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, in a letter to the authorities. Marines and their families, according to the Liberation.
