CHICAGO (CBS) – A public memorial service for civil rights activist Dr. Timuel D. Black will be held Sunday at the Rockefeller Memorial Chapel at the University of Chicago.
The memorial will take place in person and virtually with service starting at 3:30 p.m. Governor JB Pritzker, Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Reverend Jessie Jackson will be in attendance.
Black’s private funeral service took place in October after his passing – with a small gathering of family, friends and community leaders who shared memories and historic moments.
