UN expects more ships to carry Ukrainian grain

Ambitions to ship between 2 and 5 million tonnes of grain out of Ukraine each month through a safe corridor for international shipping were “feasible”, the UN said. “We expect to see a big increase in transit requests,” from shipping companies, senior UN official Frederick Kenney said in Istanbul on Wednesday, Reuters reported. So far, a dozen ships have left Ukraine under a Turkish-brokered deal between Ukraine and Russia.
