Ukraine’s plans for US-funded biolabs included drones – Russia – RT Russia and the former Soviet Union

Kyiv intended to use pathogens developed in Pentagon-funded biological labs to attack Donbass and Russia, Moscow says

Documents and other evidence from US-funded labs in Ukraine suggest kyiv planned to use drones to deploy pathogens against Donbass as well as Russia, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday. Moscow has also identified specific US officials involved in the development of biological weapons in Ukraine.

Of particular interest to Russian investigators are “Documents testifying to the kyiv regime’s plans to use unmanned aerial vehicles capable of carrying and spraying deadly substances”, military spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov told a briefing.

Facts in the possession of the Russian army “to prove that the kyiv regime was seriously considering the possibility of using biological weapons against the population of Donbass and the Russian Federation”, Konashenkov added.

Russia has also identified “specific officials who participated in the creation of biological weapons components”, added the general. He did not name any, however, saying only that they were “the heads of divisions and employees of the United States Department of Defense, as well as its principal contractors.”

These campaigns were “directly linked to the son of the current American president, Hunter Biden”, Konashenkov added, citing inquiries in Western media. Last week, the Daily Mail published emails showing Biden’s ties to Pentagon contractor Metabiota, which specializes in researching pandemic-causing pathogens that can be used as bioweapons.

Hunter Biden’s involvement in US funding of Ukrainian biological labs was raised by Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov, commander of Russia’s Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Forces, during a briefing last Thursday.

The results of further analysis of documents and other evidence obtained from Ukrainian biolabs will be shared in more detail “in the near future at a special briefing,” Konashenkov promised.

Washington has long claimed that allegations about Pentagon-funded biolabs in Ukraine are “Russian disinformation”. Earlier this month, however, US diplomat Victoria Nuland testified before the Senate that there was “biological research laboratories in Ukraine” and the United States worked with kyiv “to ensure that biological research materials do not fall into the hands of Russian forces.”
