UK unemployment rate held steady for three months to August

Britain’s unemployment rate remained unchanged in the three months to August, a further sign that the country’s robust labor market could continue to cause problems for the Bank of England, according to data released on Tuesday .

The unemployment rate, measured with a new methodology, rose to 4.2% during this period, according to data from the National Statistics Office, a figure equal to that of the May-July period. A poll of economists conducted by the Wall Street Journal using the previous method of data collection predicted a 4.3% increase.
