It comes after shipping containers were diverted from the country’s largest port because it was full.
The shipping and supply crisis continues to reverberate further at this point, with the UK’s largest container port being the last to be affected. The port of Felixstowe would see dwell times almost doubled in a fortnight due to a shortage of truck drivers, forcing the diversion of sea containers carrying toys and electrical products.
The British authorities are however trying to calm the situation, imploring consumers to “buy as usual” before Christmas and reaffirming that the situation at the port is improving. Well, those are heartwarming words, but actions speak louder in this case.
