Underdog fighter Zhang Mingyang scores a sensational knockout against rival Tuco Tokkos
A UFC-sponsored event in Singapore hosted one of the most vicious knockouts of the year so far on Wednesday night when underdog fighter Zhang Mingyang defied the odds to score a sensational finish from heavily favored Tuco Tokkos.
Ahead of UFC Singapore’s fight card on Saturday night, which is headlined by a must-see light heavyweight title clash between champion Glover Teixeira and rising contender Jiri Prochazka, the organization has whetted the appetite. fight fans with a few preview attractions – not the least of which was the “Road to UFC” event which took place on Wednesday.
And anyone who attended will certainly not forget this one anytime soon.
Chinese fighter Zhang Mingyang was the heavy underdog in his fight against Britain’s Tokkos, but he defied the odds when he knocked Tokkos down with a right hook – and followed that up with a series of more strikes against the already oblivious fighter.
The flurry of strikes left Tokkos lying on the canvas for an extended period – even after Mingyang read his name aloud as the winner of the fight.
He was treated in the cage by medics before being transported backstage, where reports from the arena indicate he was in a very disoriented state.
According to American journalist Mike Bohn, the knockout was a “appalling” a.
“Zhang Mingyang’s absolutely awful knockout on -675 Tuco Tokkos favorite to open [Road to UFC]. It had been down for a very, very long time. Scary,” Bohn wrote on Twitter.
Others online criticized the referee for not preventing what they saw as unnecessary extra strikes on the ground.
Maybe Herb Dean could actually save Tokkos. Horrible refereeing.

That’s what I can’t take in the UFC yeah the ref should have intervened sooner but when the mf is knocked out and not moving at all you know he’s knocked out but these mfs keep on hit them anyway. It’s ridiculous.
