Ubisoft + Xbox Launch Could Happen Soon, New Leak Suggests

Ubisoft+ – the publisher’s game subscription service – may launch on Xbox soon. A Twitter user known for scraping the Xbox backend found a Ubisoft+ logo, indicating the service is coming to Xbox soon. Ubisoft had confirmed that its service would be coming to Microsoft’s platform in January, but never revealed any further details. Since Ubisoft+ is currently only available on PC, this leak, if true, would mark its debut on a console platform.

Originally launched in September 2019, Ubisoft+ operates similarly to Xbox Game Pass, offering over 100 publisher-quality titles. This package includes new games and DLC at launch for a monthly cost of €14.99 (around Rs. 1,201). Subscribers can redeem new rewards each month, allowing you to enhance your gaming experience with boosters and customization items. There’s also an account ranking system, which adds up the longer you stay, granting redeemable in-game currency, loot boxes, and other items.

A previous announcement had confirmed that Ubisoft+, unlike EA Play, would not be included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This means Ubisoft+ will be available as a standalone subscription, with Game Pass subscribers having to pay separately for uninterrupted access to Ubisoft games. Ubisoft could also implement a reduced version of its subscription system, similar to Ubisoft+ Classics on PlayStation Plus, where higher tiers (Extra and Deluxe/Premium) have access to their library of games.

PlayStation Plus vs Xbox Game Pass: Prices, games, benefits and the rest compared

While leaks should generally be taken with a grain of salt, ALumia_Italia has proven itself in the past, even leaking the arrival of Immortals Fenyx Rising in the Xbox Game Pass August lineup. Microsoft confirmed the same last week, stating that Ubisoft’s Zelda-like title will be coming to its service on August 30.

In other news, Tencent is trying to become Ubisoft’s largest shareholder. The Chinese game company already owns 5% of publisher Assassin’s Creed. According to Reuters, Tencent has contacted “the founding family of French company Guillemot and expressed interest in increasing its stake in the company”.

Ubisoft+ is currently available on PC at €14.99 (around Rs. 1,201) per month. Unfortunately, there is no INR price, which should change with its arrival on Xbox.
