Two more wins for the Sandy Hawks

MT. PLEASANT, SC – UNCW ended a solid weekend with two more wins Saturday at the CofC Beach Blast, knocking out Tusculum (5-0) and Erskine (4-1) in convincing fashion.

The Seahawks improved to 16-4 on the season with the sweep.

Against Tusculum, the first duel of the day, only the fifth pair was pushed to three sets. Mady’s people and Jadyn Barry lost the first set, 21-19, but forced a third set with a 22-20 win. In the final set, it was all UNCW with a 15-8 win.

Barry and Folks continued their victories in the second duel of the day. The two extended their winning streak to 10 games with another three sets against Erskine in the fourth pair. It was their first appearance in the fourth slot this season.

UNCW won four of the five duos against Fleet.

The Seahawks take on UAB and Jacksonville on April 1 in Columbia, SC at the Carolina Challenge.
