Two members of the US Army National Guard are withdrawn from the security mission to ensure the presidential inauguration of Joe Biden. A US military official and a senior US intelligence official said the two National Guard members had ties to militias from fringe right-wing groups.
No plot against Biden has been found.
The military official and intelligence official spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity due to Defense Ministry media regulations. They did not say which marginal group the Guards belonged to or which unit they served in.
