Twitter prohibits sharing of personal photos and videos without consent

Twitter Inc said on Tuesday that it would not allow sharing of personal media such as photos and videos on its platform without the person’s consent.

The social media company’s privacy policy already prohibits sharing of other people’s private information such as phone numbers, addresses and logins.

“When we are notified by represented persons, or an authorized representative, that they have not consented to the sharing of their private image or video, we will remove it,” Twitter said in a blog post.

The microblogging site’s co-founder, Jack Dorsey, stepped down as the company’s chief executive on Monday, handing over the reins to its chief technology officer, Parag Agrawal.
