Twitter appears to be coming back for some users after suffering an hour-long outage that affected both its app and website on Thursday.

People attempting to use the social media platform received a message saying “Tweets are not loading at this time. Please try again.” According to Downdetector, users started reporting the outage around 8 a.m. EDT. About an hour later the service started to return.

Twitter’s own status page provided no information during the outage, only displaying the message “All systems operational”.

The global outage came at a tumultuous time for Twitter, which sued billionaire Elon Musk in a bid to force him to buy the company for $44 billion.

Twitter was infamous for its outages in its early days, but as it grew, problems became less common. Yet it suffered outages earlier this year, in February.
