Twitter is rolling out the ability to edit tweets to Twitter Blue followers in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. According a company tweetit will soon be available to subscribers in the United States.
Last week we i need to see an example what the edited tweets would look like when the company created one. The tweet will appear as normal, but there will be a pencil icon next to the date, along with text letting readers know when the tweet was last edited. Clicking the icon shows you a page with the edited tweet, along with a history of edits. The person who tweeted will have up to 30 minutes to make changes and can only make five changes, according to a Twitter support document.
The feature is currently still in testing, and can be found in the Labs section of Twitter Blue, Twitter’s $4.99 per month subscription service. You can also only edit certain types of tweets; things like replies, threads, retweets, and pinned tweets (as well as several others) cannot be edited, according to a supporting document.
