Tucker Carlson’s vaccine attack on ‘frightening’ Barack Obama has turned against him

The hashtag #CreepyTucker followed on Twitter Tuesday after Fox News personality Tucker Carlson’s latest attack on COVID-19 vaccines.

Carlson on his much-watched show once again cast doubt on the shots by calling former President Barack Obama “scary” for posting a video encouraging young people to receive them.

In the short clip shared on TikTok, Obama noted how all Americans over 16 are now eligible to receive the jab – and urged them to do so.

“The vaccine is safe, it’s effective, it’s free,” Obama said. “It’s the only way for us to get back to everything we love, to spend safe time with grandparents, to go to concerts and to watch live sports.”

In response, Carlson denounced the position of public health experts around the world who have judged the hits with this take:

“A scary old man who tells your children, your grandchildren to take drugs whose effects we don’t fully understand. It’s completely normal, yes, it happens every day. Don’t ask questions, just do it.

Obama is 59 years old. Carlson is 51 years old.

Elsewhere in the segment, Carlson has peddled baseless theories about what might happen to people after being “forced” to take the hit:

“After that? And all is the answer to this question. If the authorities are allowed to control such an intimate healthcare decision, if they can force you and your children to take a vaccine you don’t want and fear, then what can’t they do ? Nothing. They will have total power over your body and mind forever. What is the limit of their power? There are not any.

Critics, spurred on by a tweet from progressive PAC MeidasTouch who asked people sarcastically don’t make the #CreepyTucker hashtag go viral, snapped Carlson. Over the past few weeks, Fox’s personality has also played down the deadly US Capitol Riot and pushed white supremacist talking points on his show:
