TUCKER CARLSON: Leaders have turned America’s justice system against their political opponents

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The principle that defines the American legal system, really American life, the principle that has kept us free, is equal justice – and the principle is quite simple. No matter what you look like, who your parents were, or what your politics are, the law treats you exactly the same as any other American. In this country, justice is blind. That’s a high standard, but because Americans have long believed in fairness, and because most of the people administering this system have behaved in good faith, this country has, for the most part, been the height of its fundamental ideal for 250 years, making it the greatest country in the world, but the populist surge of 2016 changed everything.

Permanent Washington suddenly felt more threatened by his own constituents, by American voters, than by any foreign adversary. donald trump, for them, seemed more dangerous than ISIS. They panicked, and in their panic, our leaders decided to turn the American judicial system as well as the American intelligence agencies and if necessary the American military, against their political adversaries. They felt they had no choice. In doing so, they abandoned the old principle of equality before the law and replaced it with what is effectively an oath of loyalty. Opponents of the regime have become enemies of the state. It’s a huge shift and you’re seeing the results of that shift tonight.

Just 24 hours after a Manhattan grand jury indicted Joe Biden’s rival in the upcoming presidential race, another jury also in New York convicted a Republican social media influencer called Douglass Mackey. What did Mackey do wrong? Well, Douglass Mackey’s crime was to mock Hillary Clinton voters online. You see on your screen the meme that Mackey posted on Twitter during the 2016 election. In this meme, Mackey suggests that it is possible to vote for president by text because only Hillary voters might be stupid enough to believe something so absurd, but of course, in real life, no one believed it.

Mackey’s insult did not change a single vote in the election and no one has proven otherwise. The government did not claim a single victim of this crime. It couldn’t. Douglass Mackey was joking. No one believed he was a federal election official and in fact, his social media profile picture was wearing a Donald Trump hat. It was undeniable. It was mockery, but in the wake of the 2016 election and growing hysteria over Donald Trump, mocking the Democratic Party has become a crime. So tonight, Douglass Mackey faces 10 years in prison. The case against Doug Mackey is the most shocking attack on free speech in this country in our lifetime.

It is also a useful lesson in knowing who will be allowed to speak in the future. It turns out that a woman named Kristina Wong posted an almost identical meme that same year during the 2016 election, but unlike Doug Mackey, Wong voted for Hillary Clinton. “Hey Trump supporters,” she wrote. “Ignore poll lines and text in your vote.” Same crime, but the Justice Department under Joe Biden has shown no interest in prosecuting Kristina Wong. Do you see how it works? Have you internalized our new partisan legal standards? This would be the purpose of the exercise. They want you to know the rules. We’ll have more on the Doug Mackey case and what it means for you and for America in a moment and by the way, Douglass Mackey isn’t the only Trump supporter who is now going to jail because of the way which he voted.

According to a new report by Julie Kelly, the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division just arrested a grandmother in the state of Virginia for four misdemeanors this week. What did she do exactly? She entered the Capitol with her elderly mother for a total of 15 minutes on January 6. She didn’t hurt anyone. She didn’t destroy anything. She was just standing there and yet, at the same time, in the same week, none of the transgender thugs who invaded the Tennessee State House yesterday were arrested by the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division and, of course, they won ‘t be. Joe Biden just honored them with a day of trans visibility. So what we’re looking at here is undoubtedly bigger than Donald Trump, but we’re going to start tonight with the latest on his case, and we’re doing it because he is – and it’s not incidental at all. chasing him – he is the leading Republican candidate for president.

Now Trump is apparently charged not with treason or insurrection or collusion or even shoplifting, but something much smaller: a series of misdemeanors related to a payment he apparently made seven years ago. In no fair system would this be a crime under the law seven years later, but the Soros-funded district attorney in Manhattan, Alvin Bragg, assembled a Frankenstein legal theory to justify this lawsuit. Under normal circumstances, that would be impossible because the statute of limitations has passed, and as if all of this wasn’t third world enough, someone leaked news of Donald’s grand jury indictment to the media. Trump. Now, that in itself is a crime under New York law. In fact, a far greater crime than those with which Donald Trump is accused.

DONALD TRUMP AND STORM DANIELS: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Will Alvin Bragg sue the leaker? Please. It’s almost certainly someone in his own office. Nor will Bragg, as many people have pointed out today, prosecute the crimes of Hunter Biden or other Democratic supporters — those are neither rare nor hard to find. Bragg won’t sue Hillary Clinton even though she just admitted breaking campaign finance law by paying for the bogus Russian filing. What’s fascinating is that none of this alerted watchdogs to government or media abuses. No, quite the opposite. The media promotes our new standards of tribal justice.

DOUGLAS BRINKLEY, CNN: The good news is there, it’s our legal system in action that says no one is above the law.

FORMER REP. ELISABETH HOLTZMAN: No one is above the law, neither Republicans nor Democrats, nor Donald Trump, nor anyone.

ADAM KINZINGER, CNN: I tend to think that no one is above the law.

ARI MELBER, MSNBC: Nobody above the law.

ANDREW WEISSMAN, MSNBC: We have political leaders who are not above the law.

MSNBC GUEST: We believe no one should be above the law.

SYMONE SANDERS, MSNBC: They were all beating the same drum, if you will. No one is above the law.

MSNBC GUEST: No one is above the law. Today’s proof is that this also includes Trump.

GLENN KIRSCHNER, MSNBC: New life has been breathed into this saying: “No one is above the law”.

WILL CAIN: ALVIN BRAGG IS BEYOND THE LAW

Let’s be absolutely clear. None of the people you just saw care about justice. May this word burn in their mouths. No, they are obviously bloodthirsty. They would cheer when you were tied a collar on the street. “No one is above the law!” they cried as you writhed on the floor. They would, but as long as they pretend the old standards of fairness and equal application of the law apply, then what happened to Sam Bankman-Fried? Do you remember him ? The greatest financial crime in history?

To date, no one has explained or even tried to tell us how Sam Bankman-Fried was able to pay his $250 million bond. All that’s been revealed to us, the long-suffering public, is that a former Stanford dean and a Stanford computer scientist invested $500,000 and $200,000, respectively, and his parents put the value of their house. So that leaves a pretty big void. Where does the rest of the money come from? No one will tell us. No one in the media asks because no one cared. Sam Bankman-Fried failed to pay former mistress. No, he cheated a million people and got away with houses in the Bahamas and yet the system protects him because he voted correctly.

It’s remarkable, but he’s not the only criminal Washington refuses to prosecute. There are many of them. The people who destroyed the US dollar, for example; those who degraded the US military and made a joke out of it, which it is; those who flooded rural America with opioids and killed hundreds of thousands; the people who are currently selling our oil reserves to China. None of them have ever been prosecuted, in fact, they have all been promoted.

We’ll have more on them in a bit, but for now we’d like to start with donald trump, the Republican frontrunner who was indicted for non-existent crimes in the midst of the presidential race. We have a very specific question about how this is going to affect racing because of course affecting racing is the whole point.
