TSMC believes the turning point in the chip cycle is near
The world’s largest contract chipmaker believes a turnaround in the semiconductor market is finally near. Artificial intelligence-related demand will also provide a long-term boost, which is already facing supply constraints.
Inventory buildup in the semiconductor supply chain has weighed on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. in recent quarters. On Thursday, the company reported an 11% drop in revenue for the quarter ended September. Net profit fell 25%. But both beat S&P Global Market Intelligence analyst forecasts.
