Trump says Melania’s ‘mystery’ is part of her ‘beauty’: Ex-president tells Megyn Kelly his wife doesn’t need to be ‘there’ and has ‘confidence in herself’ when we ask her why she keeps a low profile

Donald Trump said his wife Melania’s mysterious presence was part of her “beauty”, as he opened up to Megyn Kelly about the enigmatic former first lady.

The former president, 77, sat down with Kelly for an interview on SiriusXM that aired Thursday in which he shared his views on Melania and her youngest son Barron, 17.

“I think part of the beauty is that mystery,” Trump said when asked what people misunderstand about his wife of more than 20 years, before comparing her to the Hollywood legend Greta Garbo.

“She was a great actress, but she was very reclusive, she never did an interview. I don’t see Melania like that, but she’s introspective and confident… She doesn’t need to be there- down (to be interviewed),” he explained.

“She has confidence. She has a lot of confidence in herself.

Trump also gave an update on Barron, saying the teen is doing “very well” and is a “very good athlete.”

“Barron is very tall – about six eight. And he’s a good boy. It is a beautiful boy. He’s an excellent student, a very good student…we’re thinking about (college) right now,” he added.

Although Trump and Kelly don’t have a very civil history together, the two have complained about Melania’s exclusion from Vogue magazine.

“It’s so sad, but she doesn’t care, she’s been on the cover of magazines for a long time, and she was already on the cover of Vogue,” Trump said.

“She was actually very friendly with Anna Wintour, but once I ran for politics, that was it, and that’s OK.”

Despite her recent indictments, Trump said Melania, who has stayed off the campaign trail this year, is doing very well, describing the former model as a “good, very strong woman, even full-figured.”

“She’s a very calm person, I think that’s what people like about her,” Trump told Kelly.

Asked about the former first couple’s times at home, such as their dinners, Trump responded: “Our dinners are nice dinners, our dinners are like people’s dinners…we actually get along really well.” “

Trump also gave an update on 17-year-old Barron, saying the teen is doing “very well” and is a “very good athlete.”

Melania has also not been by Trump’s side during any of his court appearances as he wages multiple legal battles.

It was a productive conversation for Trump and Kelly, who have a notoriously checkered history.

Trump claimed she had “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her anywhere” during the August 2015 primary debate that she moderated.

But it appears the feud is now under bridges as Kelly released excerpts of her interview with Trump on Thursday morning.

Kelly had expressed her enthusiasm, assuring viewers that the interview would be nothing short of captivating.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing this,” she said in the video. “It’s going to be great, it’s going to be spicy and it’s going to be tough, but it’s going to be good and I hope we both enjoy it.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Trump said that while he thought Joe Biden was “blatantly incompetent,” he didn’t feel like he was too old to be president.

With just three years separating the two 2024 frontrunners, many are concerned about the increasing age of presidential candidates — as well as other congressional leaders.

Polls show that more than three-quarters of Americans believe that Biden, 80, is too old to stay in office for another four years.

Trump met with former Fox News host Megyn Kelly, who now has her own podcast The Megyn Kelly Show, despite the duo’s fraught past.

Kelly had expressed her enthusiasm, assuring viewers that the interview would be nothing short of captivating.

But Trump, 77, told Megyn Kelly in the SiriusXM interview broadcast on Triumph Channel that age wasn’t the issue.

“I have a lot of friends who are over 80 years old. I have friends… who are over 90 years old and who are very sharp. Just, I mean, I would say, pretty much what they were. No, not old. He’s incompetent,” Trump said of Biden.

If Biden were re-elected, he would break his own record of being the oldest US president ever inaugurated, at 82 years old.

Trump is the second oldest president after Biden. He was invested at the age of 70. He beat former President Ronald Reagan by about a year.

“Age is interesting because some people are very sharp and some people lose it, but you also lose it at 40 and 50,” Trump told Kelly. “But no, he’s not too old at all. He is clearly incompetent.

“You look at some of the great world leaders, they were 80 years old and they made it – I mean, Churchill, so many people. They were phenomenal at 80 years old. You know, there’s great wisdom if you don’t You’re not in a position like him, but if you go back 25 years, he wasn’t the most skilled either.
