Former President Donald Trump claims in a social media post that he will be arrested next week.

The claim comes as a New York prosecutor plans to indict Trump over the hidden money paid to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, but there has been no formal announcement of indictment plans.

Trump has been embroiled in several criminal investigations, but the Daniels-related case is the longest of them all, dating back to 2016.

On his Truth Social platform on Saturday morning, Trump cited “illegal leaks” that he will be arrested on Tuesday and called for a protest.

Trump, who is running for president in 2024, also defended himself, saying he had committed no crime – although he did not reveal what he expected to be charged with – and he did. accused the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office of being “corrupt and highly political.”

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office declined to say whether it would issue an arrest warrant for Trump soon.

But the Associated Press reported that law enforcement officials in New York were discussing security preparations ahead of Trump’s indictment in the coming weeks.

If that happened, Trump would become the first former president to be indicted in US history.
