Her tweet was accompanied by an old video of Farah Griffin gushing over the then-president while she was a White House staffer.

Trump’s online tirade comes after Farah Griffin, now a CNN contributor and co-host of ‘The View’, said on air that Trump had come out as ‘radioactive for independents and moderates’ and had probably lost a significant number of voters as a result of the CNN controversy. city ​​hall. Farah Griffin made the comment to defend the network amid backlash from her left-leaning audience and CNN staffers over her decision to host the event with the former president.

Farah Griffin is among a legion of Republican critics of Trump with high media perches. She has held several high-level positions in the Trump administration, including press secretary to Vice President Mike Pence, Pentagon press secretary and White House communications director. In that last post in 2020, she would have been key in shaping messaging around Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. She resigned in December 2020, expressing her pride in her time in the administration in her resignation letter.

Farah Griffin joined CNN as a commentator in 2021, taking a very different tone from her former boss. In August 2022, she said: “As someone who unfortunately worked for Donald Trump, I never want to see this man be president again.” She said some of her family members, including her father, skipped her marriage because of her stance against Trump.

Trump continued to talk about Farah Griffin in a separate Truth Social post over the weekend, saying CNN and “The View” were under pressure to fire her for criticizing him. Trump has provided no evidence to support this claim.

“They say they’re revolting against the ‘View’ and CNN, and want Farrah OUT! Lots more to come,” Trump wrote while praising CNN’s ‘beautiful’ town hall.

“She tried to delete her words, but we have ALL of them. I don’t see how she lasts because this ‘stuff’ shows how fake she is,” Trump continued, apparently referring to the previous video that he shared of Griffin speaking favorably of him.

Turning his anger on the backlash directed at CNN over the town hall, Trump continued, “They won’t be able to take the heat from the radical left, just like CNN wants to fire the ‘boss’ because of city hall absolutely lovely that they just put on,” he said.
