Trump promotes watches in his name

WASHINGTON — Former President Donald Trump on Thursday promoted watches bearing his name, his latest involvement in a series of business ventures while he simultaneously campaigns for the White House.

“You’ll love them. They’d make a great Christmas gift,” Trump said in a Truth Social article linking to the supplier’s website.

Some of the most expensive watches listed on the website cost $100,000. A cheaper type of watch, called on the site “Fight Fight Fight”, in reference to what Trump chanted as he left the stage in July after being shot in the ear during an attempted attack. assassination, costs between $499 and $799.

A disclaimer on the website says the vendor, TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC, “uses the name, image and likeness of ‘Trump’ under a paid licensing agreement.”

A Trump campaign spokesperson directed questions about the deal and Trump’s involvement in the business venture to the Trump Organization. Neither the Trump Organization nor TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC immediately responded to requests for comment.

“Trump Watches are not designed, manufactured, distributed or sold by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization or any of their respective affiliates or officers,” the website states. He added that the watches “are not political and have nothing to do with any political campaign.”

The FAQ section of the website highlights the question: “Are these official watches of President Trump?” »

“These are just official watches donated by President Trump and include a replica of his famous signature!” » says the answer.

Democrats have previously criticized Trump’s similar business efforts, and Harris spokesperson Ammar Moussa criticized Trump’s X decision.

“Donald Trump sells $100,000 watches. It’s not a joke. Trump is more focused on himself than anyone else,” the post said.

Watches from Trump, who openly says he prioritizes American-made products, include Swiss-made materials, according to the product’s website. “Swiss made” is written on several photos of watch dials displayed on the site.

The watches are the latest in a series of products that Trump has promoted in recent years under license for his name, image and likeness, including a sneaker line and NFT trading cards. Trump promoted $60 branded Bibles in partnership with country music artist Lee Greenwood, and members of the Trump family also launched a crypto platform.
