Trump PAC legal spending skyrockets to $3.9 million in August amid investigations

In August, Trump faced concurrent investigations regarding classified documents found at his Mar-a-Lago estate, the finances of the Trump Organization and a Georgia grand jury investigation.

  • The vast majority of legal expenses went to a single firm in West Palm Beach, Florida.
  • Save America was created right after the 2020 election that Trump lost.
  • Legal fees accounted for the majority of the $6.5 million spent by PAC last month.

As Donald Trump struggled to mount a legal defense against an unprecedented federal raid of his Mar-a-Lago estate, one of a growing litany of investigations with the former president at the center, the bills of its political action committee for legal advice soared.

Save America spent $3.9 million on legal advice in August, most of which went to a law firm in West Palm Beach, Fla., according to documents filed Tuesday evening with the Federal Election Commission. Legal fees accounted for the majority of the $6.5 million spent by PAC last month.
