Former President Donald Trump is dominating the Republican presidential primary and has opened a huge lead over President Biden in a potential head-to-head matchup, according to May’s Harvard-Harris survey.
The survey showed Trump completely dominating the 2024 Republican primary with a majority backing him in a potentially crowded field.
Trump garners 58% support, while Governor Ron DeSantis – who is rumored to announce a presidential candidacy next week – falls into the teens with 16% support. That 42-point lead reflects a three-point rise for Trump and a four-point drop for DeSantis since the last survey.
WATCH YOUR STEP! Biden struggles AGAIN with the stairs:
Not only does Trump dominate the GOP primary, but the survey also shows him leading President Biden by 7%, garnering 47% to Biden’s 40%.
That reflects a two-point increase from the 45% Trump saw in the last survey, while Biden remained the same.
Thirteen percent, overall, remain uncertain.
Meanwhile, DeSantis and Biden are tied in the same scenario, each garnering 42% support. This reflects a one-point jump for DeSantis and a two-point jump for Biden:

The survey was conducted May 17-18 among 2,004 registered voters and comes as more rumors of potential challengers for Trump are beginning to surface. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) is expected to announce his candidacy for president next week. New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu also teased the prospect of a presidential bid, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie would announce a presidential bid in the coming days.

Rumors also indicate that DeSantis could also announce a presidential candidacy next week, and Trump has continued to voice criticism.
“As I said, Ron is not eligible. I’m ahead of Crooked Joe Biden by, at least, 7 and Ron DeSanctimonious is losing by 4. His ‘campaign’ was a total disaster! Trump said, sharing the data from a recent survey on Truth Social:
