Former President Donald J. Trump has adamantly announced that Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) will not receive his endorsement for the U.S. Senate from Missouri.
“You can forget Vicky Hartzler for the Great State Senate of Missouri”, Trump began in an emphatic article on Truth Social. “She called me this morning asking for my approval, as she has on many other occasions.”
I was anything but positive in that I don’t think she has what it takes to take on the radical left democrats, as well as their partner in the destruction of our country, fake media and, of course, the deceitful and foolish RINOs. . I was very nice to Vicky on the call, but I will NOT be supporting her FOR THE SENATE!

Trump’s statement is a major development in Missouri’s Republican primary for the U.S. Senate, with voters heading to the polls in just over three weeks. All 13 Trump-endorsed U.S. Senate candidates are undefeated in their primary races so far in the midterm election cycle, indicating his refusal to endorse Hartzler could seemingly spell the end of his campaign.
The RealClearPolitics polling average puts Hartzler in third place at 18.5%, behind Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt at 22.3% and the leading candidate, former Governor Eric Greitens (R-MO), at 24.3%.
Donald Trump Jr.’s fiancée, Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is the national campaign chair for Greitens, tweeted a screenshot of the 45th president’s Truth Social message.
“President Trump is absolutely right. We need tough, brave conservatives who will NEVER back down in the Senate,” she wrote, adding, “[t]That’s why MAGA is everything to my friend, @EricGreitens.

Greitens is the only candidate in the race who has vowed to vote out Senate Minority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) as Senate GOP leader if he wins the nomination and general election . Trump has repeatedly called on GOP senators to oust McConnell from the leadership.
“Look, Mitch McConnell, a disaster,” he said in December. “Republicans need to find a new leader.”
Schmitt was repeatedly asked if he would vote against McConnell following Greitens’ adamant pledge, but the Missouri attorney general dodged the question in each instance.
As Breitbart News reported in February:
At CPAC, Amanda Head of Real America’s Voice asked Schmitt if he would support McConnell as Senate Majority Leader, if Schmitt won the seat and the Republicans regained the Senate.
“Oh look, I don’t even think anyone is running against him. I’m going to take inspiration from people like Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley and Mike Lee and tell them for sure,” Schmitt replied.
This weekend on CPAC, Trump doubled down on his criticism of McConnell but of the Missouri Senate candidate @Eric_Schmitt declined to pledge to vote out Mitch McConnell as GOP leader if elected. I gave him two chances. pic.twitter.com/fJzIgUqhva

Schmitt also dodged the question when asked by Fox News at CPAC. The morning after hosting a private fundraiser at Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate in March, he again dodged the question while appearing on KCMO’s morning show Pete Mundo.
“Yes, I’ve answered that many times already. I’m focusing exclusively on winning the primary and winning the overall,” he said in part. “I’m not going to go too far here, maybe it’s the old superstitious former athlete in me.”
The primary is set for August 3.
