Tristan Thompson reflects on his mother’s legacy a month after her tragic death.
After his mother Andrea Thompsonwho died suddenly on January 5, the NBA star wrote a heartbreaking message on social media in his honor.
“Dear mom in heaven, it’s been a month since you left,” he wrote alongside photos of their family on Instagram on Feb. 5. “I am in disbelief. I am in the depths of grief and grief. My soul is empty as I accept that my biggest supporter/superhero is gone.”
Praising his mother as a hero, Tristan went on to note that she “fought all the battles” in life, adding, “and it was time for you to come home.”
“Man, what I wouldn’t give to hear your voice,” he continued. “Mom, I know you look down on me; I want to say thank you for choosing me as your son.”
Following news of Andrea’s death in January, TMZ, citing sources with direct knowledge, reported that she suffered a heart attack at her Toronto home.
