Trevor Noah raises eyebrows at ‘perfect’ excuse for missing Secret Service texts

Trevor Noah is a little skeptical of the US Secret Service’s explanation for his missing January 6, 2021 texts.

Why the Secret Service was unable to provide the subpoenaed documents to the House committee investigating the attack? The agency said the messages were removed as part of a routine, pre-planned device replacement program.

The Secret Service denied maliciously erasing the messages following a request for recording.

“Wow, that’s so sad. The Secret Service lost all the January 6 text messages because they were doing a ‘device replacement program’. What a perfect — I mean terrible — thing,” Noah said Tuesday. in “The Daily Show” “Why do I feel like this is the same kind of brace replacement program you do when your partner asks you to explain where you were the other night?”

The Secret Service has come under intense scrutiny after it said it planned to challenge the testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide to Trump’s White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, who told investigators of the House that Trump threw himself behind the wheel of the presidential limo on Jan. 6 and demanded to be taken to the United States Capitol.
