Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham continue to press for major new signings as the transfer window heats up with the new Premier League season less than a week away. Chelsea are on the hunt for new defenders, with Josko Gvardiol and Wesley Fofana top of Thomas Tuchel’s list after missing Jules Kounde at Barcelona. Milan Skriniar and Benjamin Pavard are also interesting.

West Ham are facing competition from Juventus to sign Filip Kostic.
The Hammers want to sign the left-back, who can also play in midfield, and made a bid worth around £11m last week.
Eintracht Frankfurt want around £17m to consider selling the 29-year-old, and Juventus are now showing interest.
PSG now want Fofana
Chelsea’s hunt for a new centre-back has taken another turn with Paris Saint-Germain now interested in Wesley Fofana.
According to reports in France, Leicester centre-back Dayot Upamecano and Benjamin Pavard.

Chelsea prepare Gvardiol swap offer
Chelsea are trying to complete a swap deal with RB Leipzig for Josko Gvardiol which includes cash and Timo Werner.
The defender is at the top of Thomas Tuchel’s list, alongside Wesley Fofana and, further down, Benjamin Pavard, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Gvardiol is considered not for sale by Leipzig.
Rodon will undergo a medical examination in Rennes
Tottenham defender Joe Rodon is in France to complete his loan spell at Rennes.
He must undergo a medical examination before signing a contract for one season.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the Ligue 1 outfit will have the option to sign him for €20m.
Arsenal’s mysterious targets
It seems that the signing Mikel Arteta wants the most is a new winger.
This is according to Fabrizio Romano, but the identity remains a mystery.
Central midfielders Lucas Paqueta and Youri Tielemans are targets but there have been no negotiations with the clubs and will monitor options for the wing.

Mikel Arteta says Arsenal haven’t finished in the transfer market.
The Gunners have already bought five new players for around £120million and the manager is hoping to do more business.

Bayern Munich have put Benjamin Pavard up for sale, with the defender being offered to Chelsea.

Chelsea to announce third signing
Chelsea are expected to confirm the signing of Chicago Fire goalie Gabriel Slonina soon.
The deal has been in the works for some time, initiated by Petr Cech who has since left the club, and according to ESPN the 18-year-old is set to join for around £13m.
Real Madrid were also interested but Chelsea won the race with Slonina now traveling to London to complete the deal before returning to Chicago on loan until January.
One last offer for De Jong
Manchester United are preparing to make one last bid in an attempt to lure Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona.
That’s according to Sport, who claim United are ready to make the midfielder one of their top earners with a deal worth £450,000 a week.
United have agreed a fee with De Jong but the player remains unconvinced of the plus, while Barca owe him around £15m in deferred wages – which will also need to be resolved.
