Chelsea have agreed a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with Marcos Alonso heading to Barcelona on a plus-money player deal. The Blues have also made an offer for Ajax defensive midfielder Edson Alvarez and, for the second time, have been offered PSG superstar Neymar.

Tottenham have opted against signing Dan James, with Fulham now ready to loan out the Leeds man but could land Manchester City starlet Adedire Mebude. Arsenal will make a second offer for Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz on deadline day after seeing his first approach pushed back, reports Standard Sport’s Simon Collings.

The Gunners want to sign a new midfielder before the transfer window closes at 11pm BST and Luiz has emerged as the likeliest option.

Arsenal have already failed with an opening bid, believed to be around £20m, and will return with a higher offer in the region of £23m.
