  • 1 What is it?
  • The Individual Right to Training (Dif) allowed employees who were already working before December 31, 2014 to accumulate a certain number of hours intended to help them finance continuing training. This system was abolished on January 1, 2015 and replaced by the Personal Training Account (CPF), the management of which is entrusted to the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations. Unlike the Dif, the CPF remains active throughout the beneficiary’s career, until retirement, and is valid for CDD or CDI. It is aimed at both private and public employees and job seekers. The quota of training hours is converted into euros and calculated according to the length of working time.

    The hours of training acquired last throughout professional life. They are not negligible because the cost of continuing training can be high.

  • 2 Don’t wait any longer!
  • The countdown is started before seeing these unused hours, acquired as part of the Dif, disappear definitively. The government has set Wednesday, June 30, the deadline for transferring this capital to the CPF and thus not squandering this sleeping money. The sums amount to 500 euros per year of work (800 euros for the less qualified) and can reach up to 5,000 euros (8,000 euros for the less qualified).

    According to Wall Street English, in May, only a third of employees had converted their DIF hours into euros on their CPF, which represents a total of 12 billion euros lost for the rest of the French if they do not perform this process before the date of June 30!

  • 3 How to do it?
  • You must connect to the website or on the My Training Account mobile application, then access your own account or create one. To do this, all you have to do is indicate your Social Security number and a personal (and not professional) email address. To create your password, you should only use upper case letters, letters and numbers.

    After this step, after having clicked on the tab “My rights to training” then “Private CPF + DIF”, the employee must indicate the number of hours available to him. To find it, he can either refer to his payslip from December 2014 or January 2015, which mentions it (or on the separate letter sent at the time by his company), or contact his department. HR. The balance will then be automatically credited to its counter in euros. Dif hours are converted at the rate of 15 euros per hour.

  • 4 Beware of scams
  • Numerous cases of scams have been reported over the past 18 months. They would have allowed their authors to divert more than 12 million euros for their benefit. The crooks, who rely on employees’ ignorance of the subject, contact them by phone, email or text, claiming to belong to the “My Training Account” platform or an equivalent organization. “The swindler asserts the possibilities of the right to training to try to access the victim’s account and encourage him to register, or else register him without his knowledge, for fictitious or fraudulent training which will be deducted. of the victim’s credit ”, details the public portal He will attempt to obtain your Social Security number and password from the “My Training Account” platform. Never give them away!

    Michel Yahiel, director of pensions and solidarity at the Caisse des Dépôts, is categorical: “As soon as someone talks to you about the CPF on the phone, hang up, because it’s a scam! We never call first-line beneficiaries, ”he warns.
