Conte will be mindful of Saturday’s visit to Manchester City when selecting his XI for the French side who are, on paper at least, Spurs’ easiest group stage opponents after coming from Pot 4 .
Clement Lenglet was assured on his debut in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Fulham, but Ben Davies could return on the left at the back three, while Ivan Perisic is expected to return for Ryan Sessegnon at left-back.
Conte was curiously reluctant to face Matt Doherty at the start of this season, but Emerson Royal surely needs to rest and could be saved for the game at the Etihad Stadium.
Conte rested Dejan Kulusevski against Fulham, with Richarlison drawing attention on his full debut, and the Brazilian could keep his place against Marseille, with Heung-min Son falling to the bench.
Conte’s only fitness issue is Lucas Moura, who remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.
“Moura is not available yet,” Conte said. “I think tomorrow he will start training on the pitch.
“He has this tendon inflammation and I hope to get him back very soon because especially in attack we need him.”
Spurs predicted XI (3-4-3): Loris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Doherty, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Perisic; Kulusevski, Richarlison, Kane.
