Dejan Kulusevski has impressed Antonio Conte so much that Tottenham are expected to act early by triggering his £25m release clause.
The Swedish winger has caught the eye since joining Spurs on loan from Juventus during the January transfer window, and a permanent stay now seems on the cards.
Kulusevski, 21, picked up his fifth Spurs assist in just 10 Premier League games last time out, helping his side to a 5-1 win over Newcastle United.
He also scored the first of two goals in a huge 3-2 win over Manchester City at the Etihad in February, convincing the club to secure his services on a permanent basis earlier than originally planned.
Kulusevski’s 18-month loan deal from Juve includes a £25m option to sign this summer, which will rise to £33.5m if Spurs wait until his loan expires or if he does. had played more than half of their matches.
It looks increasingly likely, with the young Swede forming a dangerous attacking trio for Conte, alongside Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.
Conte revealed he tried to sign the winger during his time at Inter Milan and hinted at a long future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“He started playing with Atalanta, then he went to Parma and he played fantastically,” Conte said.

“When I was the coach of Inter, I tried to ask to sign him but Juventus, maybe they put in more money, and they got it.
“He’s only 21, 22 and he’s strong and good physically. For Tottenham, I think he’s a great signing for now and for the future.”
The Times reports that a deal for Kulusevski would likely impact fellow forwards Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwign, who appear to have lost to the Swede in the battle to flank Kane.
Moura has just two years left on his current contract, while Bergwijn was a target for Ajax during the January transfer window and was reportedly set to leave.
Elsewhere, Spurs are set to hand Oliver Skipp a new contract worth around £40,000 a week after breaking for the first time since returning from a loan spell with Norwich.
