Tottenham suffer a blow in the Champions League race as they have no shots on target in the Premier League loss to Brighton who claim a stunning away win through Leandro Trossard
Tottenham were off target against Brighton who produced another stunning win in north London to win 1-0.
Last week the Seagulls were also deserved winners and at the time secured their first win in seven games to beat Arsenal 2-1.
Antonio Conte’s side never started and were mediocre throughout, and have now given their fierce rivals the chance to close the gap in the race for Champions League football.
Having scored 12 goals in their last three games, winning each of them, the hosts came into this fixture in top form.
But they were slow and sluggish throughout, and couldn’t complain about the outcome.
Leandro Trossard, as he had done in the Emirates, found his way back to the nets.
Receiving the ball down the left channel, he beat Eric Dier with excellent footwork before showing excellent composure to insert the ball down the right with the outside of his foot, past Hugo Lloris.
Speaking on talkSPORT, former Premier League striker Dean Ashton was impressed with the goal and said it was the least the Seagulls deserved.

“How big could that goal be in the race for the top four? He said.
“Leandro Trossard absolutely sits Eric Dier on his back, brilliant, outside of the boot, and that’s only what they deserved because they were absolutely brilliant.”
Brighton deserved the win and travel to Manchester City on Wednesday in search of another big scalp.
Spurs will feel a little more alarmed than they did before the start of the game, however, as the Gunners can level the score with them if they beat Southampton.
Crucially too, Mikel Arteta’s team will have a game in hand.
It’s also nothing Conte has ever seen from his Spurs side who have produced frustrating performances and results through impressive wins.
But it could have been a different story if Heung-Min Son and Steven Bergwijn had done better.
The former had a clean shot on goal as the game was goalless, but his effort was blocked by Trossard.
While the Dutchman could have saved his team from a fair point to death but sent his effort wide of the post.
While it’s a disappointing result for Spurs, Champions League football is still very much possible, and they hope to rectify that result with a win against Brentford next Saturday.
