Harry Kane and Heung-min Son made history on Wednesday night after both scoring in the 4-0 win at Crystal Palace.
The duo have now found the back of the net in 34 Premier League games together – overtaking former record holders Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Few would have expected this emphatic half-time scoreline after the Eagles dominated Spurs for the majority of the first half at Selhurst Park.
But the visitors rushed out of the blocks early in the second half, with Kane netting a quick brace in the 48th and 53rd minutes.
Matt Doherty then put Spurs three in the right in the 68th minute, before Son struck moments later in what was his first high-flying goal since scoring a hat-trick against Leicester on September 17.
And it turned out to be a historic goal as Son and Kane have now scored the most of any Premier League duo.
A delighted son told Sky Sports after the match that he was “sorry” to his teammates for not being able to contribute more to this campaign.
He said: “It’s a tough place to come in and play well. I think we deserved it, in the second half we dominated the game and scored four beautiful goals.

“[My goal] it was time ! It was amazing. To be honest, I felt really sorry for the team because I think they expected more than I did.
“I hope today was the turning point, that I regained my confidence and that I will continue to help the team.”
Kane, who is just two goals away from equaling Jimmy Greaves’ record of 266 goals for Spurs, now wants Spurs to start in 2023 after their defeat against Aston Villa on New Year’s Day.
He said: “We didn’t come back and had the best results, we did well at Brentford to get something out of the game and then losing at home a few days ago was tough.
“It was a tough game today away from home, so it was nice to put that performance on the line.
“I thought we started the game well, so it was more about getting back to that in the second half.
“It was about moving the ball quickly, getting points behind and then quality in the final third.
“These are the games, if you are 1-0 down you can have a really hard time getting back to it.
“Games are coming fast and good so it was great to get three points here. Hopefully we can build on that momentum in the games to come.
Fifth-placed Spurs, who trail Manchester United by two points in the table, will face Arsenal in the North London derby in their next top-flight outing on January 15.
