Tottenham plan Destiny Medical Udogy as progress is made on seventh summer signing

Ottenham are hatching a plan to make Destiny Udogie their seventh summer signing.

The Udinese left-back, who has been personally recommended by manager Antonio Conte, is set to join a deal worth around £21million before spending the season on loan at the Serie A club .

It’s the same deal that last summer saw Spurs beat a number of rivals to the signing of the coveted Pape Matar Sarr. The midfielder stayed at Metz last season and is now looking to impress Conte.

standard sports understands that Spurs are not planning to bring Udogie to their Hotspur Way base to complete a deal, but rather have the player accept personal terms on a long-term contract before undergoing a medical in Italy.

Tottenham Chief Football Officer Fabio Paratici knows the Italian market well and Udogie is seen as a young player with great potential.

Left-back Ryan Sessegnon scored his first goal for Spurs on Saturday as Southampton were beaten 4-1 on the opening weekend of the Premier League season. Summer signing Ivan Perisic, also a left-back, made his competitive debut for the club later in the game.

Sergio Reguilon, another left-back, is surplus and has been told he can leave Tottenham before the transfer deadline.
