Ottenham have confirmed that Manchester City legend Yaya Toure has joined the club’s coaching staff.
The Ivorian previously held coaching positions at Ukrainian club Olimpik Donetsk and Russian club Akhmat Grozny, leaving the latter in June 2021, to join Spurs on a part-time basis at the end of last year.
Toure worked with the club’s U18 group and hailed the players working in the setup as “so smart and smart” as he worked for his coaching badges in north London.
Simon Davies, a former Manchester United during his playing days, has also been given a behind-the-scenes role as head of methodology at the Hotspur Way academy.
Earlier on Friday, Jermain Defoe’s return to the club as academy coach and Spurs ambassador was confirmed.
Scott Parker, currently in charge of Premier League rivals Bournemouth, began his coaching career with Spurs’ youth teams, while Ryan Mason works alongside Antonio Conte with the north London first team.
