Tottenham and Everton are in a battle to sign Los Angeles FC forward Diego Rossi this summer, according to talkSPORT.
The 23-year-old Uruguayan has been dubbed “the new Luis Suarez” and won the Golden Boot at the 2020 MLS Is Back tournament with seven goals.
Rossi has grown into one of MLS’s top young players and is an accomplished finisher.
Although he has yet to receive full international recognition with Uruguay – having so far represented his country at the Under-15 to Under-21 level – he is highly rated with an expected summons soon. .
More recently, Armenia, his mother’s birthplace, has failed in attempts to change Rossi’s international allegiance, despite being of Italian descent on his father’s side.

Rossi, who is valued at around £ 10million, has been a big hit in America since joining Uruguayan club Penarol in 2017.
The young forward spent four seasons in MLS after joining LAFC ahead of his first campaign as a new franchise and scored the club’s first competitive goal in history on his MLS debut against the Seattle Sounders.
In July 2020, Rossi also scored four goals in a 6-2 local derby victory over LA Galaxy – dubbed El Trafico – in an MLS is Back tournament.
Rossi is 56 goals and 21 assists in 107 games for the California club.
Everton are looking for offensive reinforcements this summer after releasing Josh King, whom they only signed from Bournemouth in January, while Spurs are also looking for an addition to their frontline.
