Top scorers in men’s football at the 2021 Olympics: updated Tokyo Games rankings

With the quality of international talent on display at the 2021 Olympic men’s soccer tournament, Tokyo’s top scorer ranks are set to be star-studded.

brazil star Richarlison, Spain Marco asensio and French veteran Andre Pierre Gignac are among punters’ favorites to finish as the competition’s top scorer, but young talent is sure to emerge as well. Argentinian striker Adolfo Gaich and brazilian Matheus cunha (both 22) are also chart-topping pre-tournament contenders.

The list of top scorers from recent Olympic men’s tournaments includes some of the deadliest strikers in international football, from Chilean legend Ivan Zamorano to Argentine attacking stars Carlos Tevez and Hernan Crespo. Born in the United States, Giuseppe Rossi, who represented Italy, led with four goals in the 2008 edition.

Current Bayern Munich striker Serge Gnabry topped the scoring charts in the last men’s Olympic tournament with six goals in Germany’s silver medal race.
