Tommy Fury vs. Jake Paul “not far away”, says promoter Frank Warren who “tricks contracts” | Boxing News

Tommy Fury’s grudge match with Jake Paul is being negotiated and his promoter Frank Warren says “I think it’s going to happen.”

The younger brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and YouTuber-turned-boxer started their feud in a series of social media feuds that turned into challenges to settle him in the ring.

“We are sorting out the contracts at the moment,” Fury promoter Warren told Sky Sports.

Tommy Fury Says He Will Make Jake Paul Pay For His Personal Comments And Break All The Bones In His Face!

“Until they’re signed, we know it doesn’t mean anything.

“If that happens, it will be in the United States.

“I think it’s going to happen. We’re close to doing it.”

Fury recently won his United States debut on the undercard in Paul’s best win yet, against former UFC champion Tyron Woodley.

They were embroiled in a furious backstage showdown when their paths crossed.

Fury’s older brother, the heavyweight champion, weighed in on this rivalry by claiming he would have Tommy quit from boxing if he failed to beat Paul.

This prompted Paul to raise the stake – he offered a bet that if he lost he would pay Fury $ 500,000 more, but if Fury lost he would have to change his name to “Tommy Fumbles” for a year.

Warren joked, “Part of the deal is we have to decide what the other guy needs to change his name to!”

“It will have to be reproduced.”

Jake Paul says future showdown with Tommy Fury could be a “massive fight”

Paul has won all four of his fights since trading the online world for the boxing ring.

Fury, who rose to fame on Love Island, has been undefeated for seven years.

“They are both novices,” Warren said. “Tommy had seven fights, the other guy four.

“Tommy has a lot to learn. He has to learn his trade. His last amateur fight was when he was 15.

“But if he can earn the money he would earn from this fight? Who am I to stand in the way? It’s life changing.

“What Jake did was phenomenal. He was able to monetize it.

Claressa Shields said she would never fight over an undercard from Jake Paul and that she could beat him “right now”.

“The place was hit [when Fury and Paul boxed on the same night]. The crowd arrived at 7 p.m. and watched each fight.

“We had Daniel Dubois on the show.

“It’s pretty amazing.”

Warren predicted of Fury vs. Paul, “It’ll be really fun, press conferences and everything. They’re both witty guys.

“The fight itself? I think Tommy is too much for him.

“Let’s get him signed and we’ll find out.”
