Tom Brady is back.
Brady was the talk of the football world throughout August after taking an unexplained break with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for alleged ‘personal reasons’ which lasted in Saturday’s 13-3 loss of the preseason against the Tennessee Titans.
However, Kevin Patra of the NFL website wrote that Brady returned to the Buccaneers team facility on Monday for the first time in 11 days. The Joe Bucs Fan website added that the 45-year-old took a family vacation to the Bahamas while he was away.
Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles and general manager Jason Licht had both insisted Brady’s August sabbatical had been planned and authorized by team officials, but no did not offer a direct explanation as to why the seven-time Super Bowl champion was not participating in preseason practices. From nowhere.
“I know exactly when Tom will be back, and I always said it would be sometime after the Titans game,” Bowles said ahead of the weekend. He added at the time: “I’m not worried, so I don’t know why anyone else would be worried.”
As Josh Alper noted for Pro Football Talk, Brady is on track to return to standard football practices and activities ahead of next Saturday’s preseason finale at the Indianapolis Colts. Logic suggests the GOAT won’t enter this contest and instead prepare to face the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 on Sept. 11.
Maybe Brady was having a really good time filming an episode of “The Masked Singer” for Fox, his future employer.
