Todd McShay raves about CJ Stroud’s pro day

The 2023 NFL Draft is just around the corner.

With that in mind, the weeks leading up to the draft will likely be filled with rumors and excitement surrounding the top prospects.

One of the most talked about players so far has been CJ Stroud, who recently saw his draft stock increase.

Todd McShay, one of the most prolific draft analysts, recently commented on Stroud’s Pro Day.

Regarding Stroud’s attitude, McShay dictated that he had a unique level of maturity and a unique leadership style.

McShay thinks Stroud has what it takes to be the No. 1 draft pick.

Not only were Stroud’s physical traits taken into account, but his mentality was highly praised as well.

While it is important to have key physical characteristics, being mentally strong and having football intelligence are equally important.

One intangible that has been said about nearly every elite NFL quarterback is their ability to read a defense.

Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are three examples of this mentality coming to fruition.

None of these players were known as elite athletes, but due to their ability to understand how the game is played, they were able to achieve great success in the NFL.

Stroud was said to have many of these intangibles, which is why McShay called him unique.

The Carolina Panthers recently traded for the No. 1 overall pick, which will likely be Stroud, pending a strange twist.
