It’s a new season and the NHL has a new home.

Turner Sports already has a stacked lineup that includes NBA, MLB, NCAA basketball, Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley. Now they will have the fastest game and “The Great One” too.

“I love being part of a team (and) I haven’t been there for a long time,” said Wayne Gretzky, TNT’s latest analyst, in a recent Zoom conversation with the media. “Hockey is my life. I love the game. I love everything about it. So when they asked me to be a part of it, I was really, really excited. I’m really looking forward to this opportunity. because we’re going to have fun and we’re going to enjoy it and we’re going to love watching hockey. ”

How to watch NHL games in 2021-22 on TNT?

In April, the NHL announced that Turner Sports would join ESPN to broadcast NHL games nationwide. The network will broadcast at least 50 regular season games on TBS and TNT.

TNT will also be the home of the outdoor games for the 2021-22 season. On January 1, the network will air the Winter Classic 2022 when the Wild host the Blues at Target Field in Minneapolis. They will also air the Stadium Series on February 26 between the Lightning and the Predators at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN, and Canada’s away game, the Heritage Classic, at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ont., Between the Sabers and the Sabers. For the playoffs, TNT will share the first three rounds of the Stanley Cup playoffs with ESPN; half of the first and second round matches will be broadcast on each company’s stations. Which NHL games will be broadcast on TNT in 2021-2022?

Wednesdays belong to TNT. Starting October 13, TNT will broadcast at least 50 regular season games, with the lion’s share midweek featuring 15 doubles programs.

On October 13, pre-game coverage will begin at 7 p.m., with Liam McHugh as host alongside analysts Wayne Gretzky, Anson Carter, Rick Tocchet and Paul Bissonette. At 7:30 p.m. ET, two teams without lost love – the Rangers and the Capitals – hit the ice in the nation’s capital. Kenny Albert will play the play-by-play alongside analysts Eddie Olczyk and Keith Jones.

In the evening, the Avalanche will welcome the Blackhawks at 10 p.m. ET. The play-by-play will be performed by Brendan Burke, with analysts Darren Pang and Jamal Mayers.

Former NHL referee Don Koharski will also be present throughout the evening.
