Titusville police investigate after woman drowned in pond

Witnesses say woman was seen ‘very drunk’ before she drowned, records show

TITSUVILLE, Florida. – Titusville police are working to learn more about what led to the drowning of a woman in a pond on Wednesday.

Officers were called to a holding pond near the entrance to Sand Point Park and North Washington Avenue around 1:30 p.m. after someone spotted a body floating in the water.

Investigators did not say how the woman ended up in the water. Several witnesses told officers the woman had been seen in the park recently and appeared “very drunk,” according to a news release.
