The two projects from creators Pablo Stanley (Robotos) and Wil Lee (the little ones) are the first on TIME Studios Kids and Family Division’s web3 IP list to go into production
New York, NY, July 13, 2022 –– TIME Studios, Emmy Award®-winning television and film production division of TIME and Emmy Award®-winning studio of Corus Entertainment Nelvana, a leading international producer, distributor and licensor of children’s animated and live-action content, have entered into a development and production partnership for two new original children’s animated series from the acclaimed creators of NFT Pablo Stanley (robots) and Wil Lee (the little ones). The two new series, which are to be co-produced with Nelvana, are among three NFT spin-off projects on the TIME Studios Kids and Family division’s web3 IP roster, which also includes a Toyboogers NFT deal created by Doug.
Pablo Stanley and Wil Lee will use their experience creating their beloved NFT collections to create original characters for all-new kids’ shows. Stanley, whose new series features a group of friends who set out on fantastical adventures in a world set in the distant future, is also launching a new NFT collection based on the series. Wil Lee plans to introduce viewers to an adventurous preschooler who uses her imagination and befriends a group of sweet but rambunctious bears.
Maria Perez-Brown, Head of Children and Family, TIME Studios, said, “At TIME Studios, we believe that strong characters and compelling stories can be born and continue on any platform. We’re thrilled to announce that with Nelvana’s financial commitment and animation expertise, we’ll move Pablo Stanley and Wil Lee’s projects into the next phase of development.
Keith A. Grossman, President of TIME, added, “There’s an insatiable appetite for new content, and we’ve been able to secure, structure, and grow those partnerships with Pablo Stanley, Wil Lee, other NFT creators, and now Nelvana at unparalleled speed. These crucial partnerships underscore an important next step in TIME Studios and TIME’s web3 approach to identifying the incredible blockchain IP and bringing it to viewers at home.
Athena Georgaklis, Head of Development at Nelvana, said, “Nelvana is thrilled to be collaborating with TIME Studios Kids and Family on their first ever slate of web3 IPs to go into production. Web3 is a space in the making to discover original, innovative and inspired stories. We’re excited to marry our expertise in animation production with TIME’s knowledge of this new space to bring these stories to life and bridge the worlds of web2 and web3.
The two new shows set to go into production are the latest partnership between TIME Studios and Nelvana. Earlier this year, the two companies announced the development of an animated comedy-adventure series for preschoolers, Leela Island.
